When I had just started studying Graphic design in college📚, I learned quickly that you can’t let the fear of making mistakes stop you from trying new things.

Now, when I start a project, I take a second to acknowledge that it won’t be perfect the first, second, or third (or seventh draft😅) but that it will take time but I will be able to do it. The simple reminder helps me develop a new mindset and standard for myself.

🚌📚This past fall I got to make that mindset a reality when I accepted a position as an Art Teacher for Cornerstone Prep Academy.

One of my favorite parts of this past year was being able to get to know each student and supporting them in their God given creativity. Having the opportunity to not only teach but mentor students from K-12 was a blessing I am overwhelmingly grateful for. It was certainly an adventure that had a variety of challenges, yet the lessons I’ve learned will last a lifetime.

🌤As school closes out for summer break I am excited to see what’s ahead as I continue doing freelance design and pursue applying to in-house graphic designer positions.
